But the problem is, the owner makes postings on an ad-hoc basis. On such blogs, you may still find great content but it takes months before they make one quality post! Chances are, if you continue to visit these blogs, you miss out on the latest technology news.

What exactly is killer content? Killer content means that the information is not outdated, useful, and readable. As technology often evolves at break neck speed, it is crucial that a technology blog offers up to date content. If you are depending on such information to make buying decisions, this will ensure that you get the information you need in a timely manner. If the content is outdated, you may end up buying a gadget, only to find out in a week’s time that a new version has been launched. So good timing is essential.

Also, the information is most useful to you when you can rely on it to help make better purchasing decisions. Such information is usually in the form of technological reviews. A good technological review should be written by someone heavily involved in the industry. Although this is not mandatory, it’s also best that whoever is writing the reviews has first hand experience using the products. A good product review should contain important facts, features, pricing, and user experience. Of course, the reviewer should also not be receiving any incentives for writing the reviews. Otherwise, the reviews may be biased. A well balanced review should contain both pros and cons of the products.

Blog posts that review various test results are also very valuable. For instance, a technology blog may reveal tests results on various graphic cards or the best software downloads. This allows the consumer to make comparison between different models easily.

Tight focus.

As there are many new and interesting technological gadgets being launched every week, there is no lack of topics to write about. Some technology blogs offers general information. In other words, they write short blog entries about every product that they get their hands on. However, this dilutes the focus. Often, on general technology blogs, you find that content is superficial, and there is less attention to detail.

The best technology blogs should realize that they cannot possibly cover everything in the technological sphere. So the best thing to do is to keep a tight focus. For example, if the focus is on entertainment, then blog posts should be closely related to entertainment gadgets only. It should not digress to include content such as Internet news, cell phones and so on.

Although there are a great number of technology blogs out there on the Internet, blogs that fulfil all the criteria mentioned above are rare. Maybe that the fact that it’s not easy to start and maintain a technology blog that posts high quality content on a regular basis has something to do with it.
