The Canaries

The Canary Islands are a top choice for year round sun-worshipping. Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote are the most commonly visited islands and all offer dazzling coastlines and varying degrees of action and adventure. Each enjoys a warm and dry climate with well over 300 days of sunshine a year. Temperatures usually remain comfortably over 20°C so the concept of peak season has been slightly distorted here.

November to mid-December and April to June – avoiding Easter – are good times to enjoy fewer crowds and low prices, whether you’re seeking self catering apartments in Lanzarote or luxury hotels in Tenerife.

Egypt

For something completely different head to the Land of the Pharaohs, Egypt. The country is packed full of both desert and sea treats making a visit well worthwhile. Peak season runs between October and May so to avoid crowds choose June or September.

Maximum temperatures in Cairo average over 30°C during these months so be prepared to take it easy. Heading to the coast will help you to keep cool. Sharm el Sheikh on the Red Sea a popular choice. Go out of season and you will find plenty of Sharm el Sheikh hotels offering comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price.

Cyprus

Cyprus is a good early spring option thanks to its favourable Mediterranean climate. Peak season runs from June to September, so avoid these months to experience the slightly quieter side of the isle.

Visit in April and May and you can enjoy average maximum temperatures of 22°C and 26°C respectively while you laze on the beach, explore historic sites or indulge in some of the country’s delicious cuisine. Temperatures remain high into October and November, but heavier rainfall makes these months a less appealing choice so avoid them if you want to get the best mix of affordable Cyprus hotels and good weather.

The Design

As an experienced muralist, all of my murals are drawn free hand with no stencilling or projections involved. Following our initial contact by phone, I would arrange to come and meet with you to view the room you intend to have the mural painted in. We would talk through your ideas, and at this stage if you needed inspiration I would also bring along ideas, pictures, and books to look at. For children’s rooms, every child has a favourite cartoon character, theme, TV character or book so this would be our starting point. If your child is old enough I always like to ask what they would like to see in their room so we make sure the mural makes everyone happy.

Once you have decided on the size and design of the mural that’s when I can provide you with an exact cost. When I come to paint the mural – the whole design is sketched out on the wall, ceiling or cupboard etc. in pencil first, and it is at this stage that I always make sure the client is completely happy with how the design looks before any painting begins – as once the design is painted changes are hard to make!

As nice as it is to hear that internet parental controls can help to protect your child from danger online, you may be curious as to how they work or how you can get started with them.  Although you will find some variances, most parental controls for the internet are free, cheap, and extremely easy to set up.

Now that you know you have a number of different options, when looking to get started with parental controls, you may be curious how you can make the most out of them.  Some parental controls allow you to set ratings for certain websites and choose levels that you want to accept.  For example, Internet Explorer can allow you to block websites that focus on just fighting or you can go higher up and block websites that have blood and gore for content.  This option is nice, but it may unintentionally end up blocking some “safe websites.”

A more direct approach to take is to outright block the websites that you don’t want your child to visit.  The parental controls that come with Internet Explorer easily allow you to do this.  What you will want to do is perform a standard internet search to find these websites.  For example, if you want to block social networking websites, perform a standard internet search with the phrase “social networking websites.”  Any websites that you find, you can simply just add them to your blocked list.
